Pre-Purchase Marine Systems Inspections

We assess key onboard systems including engines, driveline components, steering, fuel systems, electrical and charging systems, plumbing, sanitation, and auxiliary equipment such as windlasses and thrusters. The goal is to identify faults, poor installations, deferred maintenance, or upcoming costs before you commit to the purchase.

Unlike a general condition survey, this inspection is carried out from a marine systems engineering perspective. That means a practical, real-world assessment of how systems are installed, how they are performing, and how serviceable they will be going forward. Where possible, we test systems under operation and highlight any risks that may not be immediately visible.

Following the inspection, you’ll receive a clear report outlining findings, recommended repairs, and likely maintenance requirements. This allows you to make an informed decision, negotiate with confidence, and avoid unexpected costs after purchase.

Whether you’re buying your first boat or upgrading to something larger, understanding the condition of the onboard systems is one of the most important steps in the process.
